Coordination Board

Considering that CUIP incorporates two research lines and involves three Portuguese universities, in addition to UAlg, the Coordinating Committee consists of six members: the CUIP Coordinator (Saúl de Jesus), the Coordinator of the Basic Psychology research group (Alexandra Reis), the Coordinator of the Applied Psychology research group (Cristina Nunes), a representative from UAL (Rute Brites), a representative from UMa (Margarida Pocinho), and a representative from UAc (Catarina Mendonça).
For greater coordination among the four universities and the two research lines, the Coordinating Committee also includes João Hipólito (UAL), Dora Pereira (UMa), and Teresa Medeiros (UAc) in this initial phase of CUIP’s operations. Consequently, each university is represented by a member from Basic Psychology, and another from Applied Psychology.
It is also worth highlighting the fact that in the CUIP Coordinating Committee we have the most senior Psychology professors from the respective universities. The three Full Professors in Psychology at UAlg are in CUIP, as are the only Full Professor of the University of the Azores and the only two Professors of the Autonomous University of Lisbon. The University of Madeira haven’t yet a Full Professor in Psychology, but at CUIP there is the only colleague with an Associate Degree in Psychology from this University.
So, notably, among these nine members, six hold the esteemed title of Full Professors, the highest position in the academic career, signifying their top position in academia and their influential roles within the field of Psychology in Portugal.
