CUIP participates in an interdisciplinary international research project

As part of the research project titled “LittleFish-STP (São Tomé and Príncipe little fish threatened – a big opportunity to unravel this fishery resource in tropical islands)”, funded by FCT AGA-KHAN, with number 541718158/2019, Saúl de Jesus participated in the activities carried out in São Tomé and Príncipe, from May 7th to 14th. The CUIP Coordinator is member of this research project team, and benefits from a grant from the Erasmus+ ICM UAlg Alliances 2022.

He presented some of the results obtained within the scope of this project, namely those obtained in the study of attachment to place and quality of life with a sample of 526 inhabitants of São Tomé, particularly fishermen. In addition, he taught two intensive courses at the University of São Tomé and Príncipe, one on “Promoting well-being and quality of life” and another on “Time management”.

Alexandra Teodósio, Vice-Rector of UAlg, Vânia Baptista and Joana Cruz, members of the team of this project and of CCMar, R&D Unit in the area of ​​Marine Sciences, evaluated as “Excellent” by FCT, also participated in these activities.

This is an example of the interdisciplinary collaborations developed by CUIP with other R&D Units of excellence, allowing research to be carried out on topics at the forefront of Psychology with other scientific areas and which mark the specificity and identity of some of the research carried out within the scope of CUIP.
