CUIP PhD student participated in the “SEA-EU Science Show 2025”

Fábio Gonçalves had won the “Three Minutes of Thesis” competition at the UAlg (3MT-UAlg 2025), allowing him to be selected to participate in the “SEA-EU Science Show 2025,” held in Kiel, Germany, from September 23rd to 26th.
This event focused on aspects of scientific communication for young researchers, promoting international exchange and strengthening scientific communication skills.
Part of the “SEA-EU Alliance’s Work Package 6 – Science Communication”, the event brought together 12 doctoral students from eight European universities on a single stage to present science in a creative, accessible, and fun way.
Fábio addressed mind wandering as “a very common phenomenon, but little studied in humans”, highlighting the importance of deepening this phenomenon, which he is seeking to do within the scope of his doctoral thesis, entitled “I wonder why we wander: How mind-wandering affects reading in children”, supervised by Luís Faísca and Filomena Inácio, integrated members of CUIP.
