On December 17th, Saúl de Jesus took office as Pro-Rector for the Doctoral College of the University of Algarve, joining the rectoral team coordinated by Rector Alexandra Teodósio.

Having previously served as Vice-Rector for Education and Culture between 2017-21, Saúl de Jesus returns to a position of responsibility at the UAlg Rectorate, this time with the challenge of contributing to an increase in the number of doctoral students, reducing dropout rates, and increasing the efficiency of doctoral programs at UAlg, that is, enabling students to complete their doctorates in less time.

His experience as Coordinator of CUIP, where he has enhanced the initiatives developed by the network of doctoral students, as well as Director of the Doctoral Program in Psychology at UAlg, since 2009, and as supervisor of 56 completed doctoral theses, will certainly be useful in his new roles.
