QuietNature project received funding from FCT

The project “Quiet Nature? The impact of noise pollution on a Nature destination,” abbreviated as “QuietNature,” received funding of €250,000 for a period of 36 months (2026 to 2028) from the FCT competition “Azores: Ecological Transition – Space – Ocean” (2025.06714.AZO).

The team for this project is composed exclusively of CUIP members, with Ana Catarina Mendonça, from the University of the Azores, as the Principal Investigator. In addition to her, Carlos Coelho, from the University of the Azores, and João Correia and Saúl de Jesus, from the University of Algarve, also participate in the team.

In addition to involving researchers from various universities that are part of CUIP, this project also has the distinction of seeking to establish connections between Basic Psychology and Applied Psychology, and is therefore an example of the direction that CUIP intends to take.
