Research Grant (BI) – International Call

Applications are open for the BI_3_2026_FCT2023.18178.IC&DT/LISBOA2030-FEDER 0092240014722 research grant under the SignPain project, which aims to enhance pain communication between deaf patients and healthcare professionals through a digital intervention. Applications are open from 31 July to 16 September 2026.

The project is part of CUIP’s scientific activity and is being carried out at the Universidade Autónoma de Lisboa.

Mandatory admission requirement: a) applicants must hold a master’s degree in Social Sciences or a related field; b) be enrolled in a doctoral program; c) or hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree and be enrolled in a program that does not confer an academic degree integrated into the educational program of a higher education institution, developed in partnership or collaboration with one or more R&D units; d) not have previously received any other research grant funded directly or indirectly by the FCT, regardless of its duration.

Preferential factors/skills:

  • Scientific knowledge and mastery of qualitative and quantitative techniques/methodologies
  • Experience in co-design and participative approaches
  • Experience in collecting and analysing qualitative and quantitative data using software such as, for example, MAXQDA, SPSS or R.
  • Publication of scientific articles.
  • Fluency in English for publication and international collaboration.
  • Fluency in Portuguese for data collection and analysis
  • Flexibility and ability to work autonomously and in a multidisciplinary team in the development of scientific activities.
